We ordered the stir-fried green beans, crispy beef, mama’s special chow mein, shrimp fried rice and the pork soup dumplings. Decided to pass this time around but next time I’m gonna order these before I even sit down. I wanted to try the mama’s special pan fried buns but the waiter said they are made to order and take about 45 minutes! Kinda disappointing since we didn’t want to wait that long. We were originally looking for dim sum but found ourselves here even though they don’t do dim sum. From the outside I would have never found this place on my own or decided to give it a try if I drove by but glad we did. It’s located in a unassuming shopping plaza with not much around and not in the old Chinatown plaza. This restaurant was on my list from a Las Vegas foodie blogger that I follow and I am so pleased I went with her recommendation. The food was barely mediocre, service/system is atrocious and the bill was $90+. This was AFTER I'd already given them a 20% tip on app order, in good faith. None of my notes for the right amount of plastic ware, plates (there are two of us, splitting an entree and had to take turns eating from out of a single box container?!), or extra soy was acknowledged/fulfilled. If I hadn't already had paid I would've aborted the mission. 5-10 minutes later she finally acknowledged me and my order had been sitting there becoming lukewarm. Unreal? Watched an employee walk a "to go" bag from kitchen to within a foot from me on the "to go" station and walked away. Then there are zero benches for waiting so I sat myself on a barstool that sort of looked like a bar yet no one acknowledged me they excel at NOT making eye contact. It took me 25 minutes to get my order submitted. I was forced to use their app but it kept crashing. Then there is the hotel's pathetic WiFi signal. Although you will pay top dollar there isn't any way to communicate a modification. Don't eat here.Frustrating that there isn't an option to deal with a human being if you want takeout. Sadly, overall, Panda Express could kick their asses. When they waiter asked how the dinner was we told him the above and he took the chow fun off our bill. No amount of hot or soy sauce could save it. I don't know what oyster sauce they used but it was of the lowest quality and totally lacking in flavor. For a restaurant named noodles, they were very sad. Clearly the chef did not separate them before the hot water. The chow fun the noodles were stuck together in big wads. It was gritty and nothing like Malaysian. For one thing, for Malaysian food the curry is supposed to be yellow, not the orange colored. The roti was a bit oily however the sauce was not Malaysian. There was nothing distinctive about the filling or flavor. For the egg rolls they could have come out of any freezer case from a. We ordered the egg rolls, Malaysian roti with curry sauce and chow Fun noodles with beef in oyster sauce. I thought the Bellagio would have higher standards. Babies always wore cloth diapers, which were leaky and labor-intensive to wash. Prior to this point, disposable diapers were not popular, although Johnson & Johnson had developed a product called Chux. One of the most revolutionary products to come out on the market was the company's disposable Pampers diaper, first test-marketed in 1961, the same year Procter & Gamble came out with Head & Shoulders. Supreme Court decided against P&G in April 1967. From 1957 to 1968, Procter & Gamble owned Clorox, the leading American manufacturer of liquid bleach however, the Federal Trade Commission challenged the acquisition, and the U.S. Once again focusing on laundry, Procter & Gamble began making Downy fabric softener in 1960 and Bounce fabric softener sheets in 1972. Branching out once again in 1957, the company purchased Charmin paper mills and began manufacturing toilet paper and other tissue paper products. In 1955, Procter & Gamble began selling the first toothpaste to contain fluoride, known as Crest. The company introduced Tide laundry detergent in 1946 and Prell shampoo in 1947. Numerous new products and brand names were introduced over time, and Procter & Gamble began branching out into new areas. After this acquisition, Procter & Gamble had their UK Headquarters at 'Hedley House' in Newcastle upon Tyne, until quite recently, when they moved to The Heights, Brooklands. The company moved into other countries, both in terms of manufacturing and product sales, becoming an international corporation with its 1930 acquisition of the Thomas Hedley Co., based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. In the television era, P&G sponsored and produced some twenty soap operas across six decades before the last of its shows ended in 2010. In the 1920s, P&G advertised its products on the new medium of radio and, from 1932 forward, was one of the biggest sponsors of daytime serials, which soon acquired the nickname of soap operas. By 1921, it had become a major international corporation with a diversified line of soaps, toiletries, and food products in that year, its annual advertising budget reached $1 million. īeginning in the 1880s, P&G advertised its wares in full-page advertisements in many general-interest magazines. The company's leaders began to diversify its products as well, and in 1911 the company began producing Crisco, a shortening made of vegetable oils rather than animal fats. The company began to build factories in other locations in the United States because the demand for products had outgrown the capacity of the Cincinnati facilities. By giving the workers a stake in the company, he correctly assumed that they would be less likely to go on strike. William Arnett Procter, William Procter's grandson, began a profit-sharing program for the company's workforce in 1887. In the 1880s, Procter & Gamble began to market a new product, an inexpensive soap that floated in water. In addition to the increased profits experienced during the war, the military contracts introduced soldiers from all over the country to Procter & Gamble's products. During the American Civil War, the company won contracts to supply the Union Army with soap and candles. By that point, about 80 employees worked for Procter & Gamble. Alexander Norris, their father-in-law, persuaded them to become business partners, and in 1837, Procter & Gamble was created.įrom 1858 to 1859, sales reached $1 million. They initially settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, and met when they married sisters Olivia and Elizabeth Norris. History Origins Ĭandlemaker William Procter, born in England, and soap maker James Gamble, born in Ireland, both emigrated to the US from the United Kingdom. Jon Moeller is the current president and CEO of P&G. Lafley, the company's chairman and CEO until October 2015, said the future P&G would be "a much simpler, much less complex company of leading brands that's easier to manage and operate". On August 1, 2014, P&G announced it was streamlining the company, dropping and selling off around 100 brands from its product portfolio in order to focus on the remaining 65 brands, which produced 95% of the company's profits. In 2014, P&G recorded $83.1 billion in sales. Before the sale of Pringles to Kellogg's, its product portfolio also included food, snacks, and beverages. It specializes in a wide range of personal health/consumer health, personal care and hygiene products these products are organized into several segments including beauty grooming health care fabric and home care and baby, feminine, and family care. The Procter & Gamble Company ( P&G) is an American multinational consumer goods corporation headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, founded in 1837 by William Procter and James Gamble. The "coolest" month was November, which was 1.35 ˚F (0.75 ˚C) warmer than average. Global temperature in 2022Īccording to the 2022 Global Climate Report from NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information, every month of 2022 ranked among the ten warmest for that month, despite the cooling influence from the La Niña climate pattern in the tropical Pacific. Read more about how the global surface temperature record is built in our Climate Data Primer. This process provides a consistent, reliable method for monitoring changes in Earth's surface temperature over time. Each value is then used to calculate a global temperature average. Multiple independent research groups across the world perform their own analysis of the surface temperature data, and they all show a similar upward trend.Īcross inaccessible areas that have few measurements, scientists use surrounding temperatures and other information to estimate the missing values. Because their goal is to track changes in temperature, measurements are converted from absolute temperature readings to temperature anomalies-the difference between the observed temperature and the long-term average temperature for each location and date. To calculate a global average temperature, scientists begin with temperature measurements taken at locations around the globe. However, the concept of a global average temperature is convenient for detecting and tracking changes in Earth's energy budget-how much sunlight Earth absorbs minus how much it radiates to space as heat-over time. To speak of the "average" temperature, then, may seem like nonsense. This means that some parts of Earth are quite cold while other parts are downright hot. Temperatures vary from night to day and between seasonal extremes in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. After all, at this very moment, the highest and lowest temperatures on Earth are likely more than 100☏ (55☌) apart. The concept of an average temperature for the entire globe may seem odd. NOAA map, based on data from NOAA Centers for Environmental Information. Only a few locations, most of them in Southern Hemisphere oceans, cooled over this time period. Most of the planet is warming (yellow, orange, red). Trends in global average surface temperature between 19 in degrees Fahrenheit per decade. As the map below shows, most land areas have warmed faster than most ocean areas, and the Arctic is warming faster than most other regions. That extra heat is driving regional and seasonal temperature extremes, reducing snow cover and sea ice, intensifying heavy rainfall, and changing habitat ranges for plants and animals-expanding some and shrinking others. The roughly 2-degree Fahrenheit (1 degrees Celsius) increase in global average surface temperature that has occurred since the pre-industrial era (1880-1900) might seem small, but it means a significant increase in accumulated heat. Given the tremendous size and heat capacity of the global oceans, it takes a massive amount of heat energy to raise Earth’s average yearly surface temperature even a small amount. NOAA graph, based on data from the National Centers for Environmental Information. Blue bars indicate cooler-than-average years red bars show warmer-than-average years. Yearly surface temperature compared to the 20 th-century average from 1880–2022. NOTE: If you have any trouble with these instructions, please contact me and I'll send you a CD with MYM12, the fully configured emulator, and all of the utilities pre-loaded so all you will need to do is Copy/Paste the contents of the CD to your hard drive. Of course, because MYM is running in an emulator, it may not run as quickly as it did directly in XP depending on the size of your data. I've also found that vDOS will run when DOSBox sometimes has problems. Overall, the experience of running MYM12 in vDOS is excellent and launching the shortcut from the Desktop will automatically launch all of the necessary "stuff" in the background (transparent to the user) and MYM12 will run just like it did in XP. I found vDOS to be easier to set up than DOSBox. Personally, I am using vDOS in Windows 10 to run MYM12. Lucky for us, there are a couple of FREE (although I hope you consider donating to their development team) emulators available for download, DOSBox and vDOS. In order to run MYM12 (or any other DOS program), you first need to run a DOS emulator to replicate the old DOS Prompt. So, you can no longer simply install and run MYM in a Command Prompt in Windows like you could in Windows XP. Microsoft removed the ability to run older DOS programs in the 64-bit versions of Windows. YES! Many of us MYMers are running MYM12 in the 64-bit versions of Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 or 11. MYM12 - 64 Bit Can I run MYM12 on my new computer that has a version of Windows 64-bit ? Stop sign cameras use radar to detect if vehicles stop, roll through, or drive right past the stop sign. have stop sign cameras listed on their DOT websites: California and the District of Columbia.ĭC.gov states that it has eight working stop sign cameras and even lists their exact intersection locations. The state laws on them aren’t even listed by the IIHS or GHSA. Stop Sign CamerasĪll the hype must go to red light and speed cameras because it’s nearly impossible to find any information on stop sign cameras. Like red light cameras, many speed camera sites have warning signs that drivers can see just before the camera has eyes on them. Speed cameras can be found in bulky, brightly colored boxes or look more basic with just the protected camera on top of a tall pole. The Chicago DOT provided a helpful “How it Works” explanation and diagram on how their speed cameras function: How to Spot Speed Cameras on Traffic Lights The date, time, speed, and location are all archived with the camera’s recording. Once triggered, the camera captures images of the license plate, and a video of the incident is usually recorded as well for additional proof. With 142 communities within 12 states using speed cameras as of March 2017, these auto-enforcers shouldn’t be ignored.ĭesigned with the same radar and laser technology used by law enforcement, these cameras are triggered when a vehicle exceeds about 10 mph over the documented speed limit. Hoping to slow down drivers with a lead foot are the second most common auto-enforcers out there today: speed cameras. Red light cameras are usually positioned on the side of the road facing the intersection, and most states post signs to warn drivers just before the intersection or next to the camera itself. The most common red light enforcers have a camera housed in a box next to a light that drivers can see flash as it takes pictures. Most red-light cameras on the roads today capture a 12-second digital video of the violation, along with two images of the license plate. These cameras are activated when there is motion passing the stop bar after the signal turns red. The most common auto-enforcer on the roads today is the red light camera.Īs of March 2017, there were 24 states and 426 American communities currently operating red light cameras in at least one location.
